From Agadir to the Sahara desert

You fall in love with Morocco and you want a trip where you can visit all? The seaside, the Atlas mountains and the Sahara desert? what if we tell you that it is all possible. Starting from a beautiful coastal city, Agadir.

Agadir has one long and outstanding beach. It is the main destination for all tourists as well as Moroccans. Agadir is well known by the warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean. You can start your trip with the magic backdrop of the high Atlas mountains in the distance. After an hour of driving from Agadir you will pass by the small city Taroudant called small Marrakech, referring to its resemblance to the red city. Indeed, Taroudant is much quieter and once you step in from your car you are treated more than a tourist, local people consider you as a guest and welcome you in with much hospitality. You can visit the Souk of Al Khazara door. It is located inside the medina, local people sell a wide variety of products from vegetables, clothes, carpets, etc. Here in Morocco you always have to bargain therefore you can improve your skills of bargaining as there are no fixed prices in Morocco souks! While you’re wandering around you can enjoy a cup of delicious Moroccan mint tea with some pastries in one of the local cafés.

Another village you will be visiting is Taliouin, the saffron city, world wide known by its good quality. Heading to Taznakht where the carpet’s legacy is born, a small village well known by a high quality of the woven and handmade carpets with beautiful threads and detailed patterns. A visit to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou (UNESCO World Heritage sites) is highly recommended before arriving in Ouarzazate, one one the most famous Kasbahs in Morocco. Once you are in Ouarzazate, where many Hollywood blockbusters were shot, don’t miss the two film studios. From here the road takes you to Skoura where you find another famous Kasbah, Kasbah Amridil. While you stop on the road make sure your camera is ready to take pictures of this amazing experience. Next places to visit are Dades valley and Toudgha gorges. This trip is for all nature lovers. Once you arrive at Merzouga dunes, be ready for a beautiful camel ride while you’re watching the spectacular sunset. Delicious meals will be prepared for you to enjoy while listening to Berber music and drumming played by the staff around the fire camp under the limitless sky.

There is another option which requires an extra time in order to visit Chegaga desert rather than Merzouga.
