An All-Inclusive Desert Experience
Our Camps: Main, Private, and Private Nomadic
We operate three distinct camps to cater to different preferences:
Main Camp: Featuring 13 en-suite tents, including three family tents with additional twin bed tents attached. While this camp has a sociable atmosphere, it also provides numerous chillout areas for privacy.
Private Camp: With 5 tents, this camp is ideal for small groups or families seeking an exclusive experience. It is located a 15-minute drive or a one-hour hike from the Main Camp.
Private Nomadic Camp: This unique setup includes just one tent, perfect for those seeking complete isolation. Located 25 minutes from the Main Camp by 4WD or a 2-3 hour hike/camel ride, it offers unmatched solitude with no other camps in sight.
Why Erg Chigaga?
Inside the Tents
Our tents are spacious (over 25 sq m) and thoughtfully designed to maximize comfort. Each tent includes a king-size bed (convertible to two singles), plush rugs, a full-length mirror, bedside tables, solar-powered lighting, an armchair, an ottoman, and space to hang clothes. Every item is handmade in Morocco, and we provide high-quality sprung mattresses, percale cotton sheets, duck down duvets, and a choice of pillows.
Each tent has a private bathroom with a Western-style flushable toilet, a dressing area, and a wash area. We provide high-quality soap, shampoo, towels, and other amenities. Instead of showers, we use a bucket wash system to conserve water, offering a surprisingly enjoyable and eco-friendly alternative.

Popular Trips and Packages
Our most popular trip is the 4-day return journey from Marrakech, which includes one night at a guesthouse en route and two nights in the desert. We also offer a 5-day trip with three nights at the camp and a 3-day trip with two nights at the camp. Additionally, we provide a 5-day trip from Marrakech to Fez, showcasing the best of rural Morocco.

Transportation
Reaching Erg Chigaga requires a 4WD vehicle, as the camp is located 60 km from M’Hamid through challenging desert terrain. We use durable and comfortable Toyota Land Cruisers, and our expert drivers ensure a safe and enjoyable journey. Alternatively, you can self-drive to M’Hamid, where we will collect you.
Environmental Responsibility
We take our environmental responsibility seriously. Our electricity is solar-powered, with a generator for emergencies. We limit air conditioning to preserve the authenticity of the experience and reduce energy consumption. Our bucket wash system conserves water, offering an eco-friendly alternative to showers.
Booking Information
